Earthquake at Dawn

This fictional story about the aftermath of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake is based on an event from the life of photographer Edith Irvine. While stopping in San Francisco en route to Europe, Edith and her maid, Daisy, find themselves trapped by the earthquake. Determined to record the destruction, Edith travels through the city taking photographs--an activity declared illegal by the authorities who were hoping to conceal the extent of the damage.
